Intelligent Electronic Rotary Valves (IERV) for Liquid Handling

AFP introduces the industry’s first Intelligent Electronic Rotary Valves (IERV). These groundbreaking valves integrate advanced precision sensors and predictive monitoring features to optimize system performance and improve reliability. IERVs are ideal for liquid fluid control applications in genomics, DNA sequencing, microfluidics, proteomics, and diagnostics systems.

Key innovations and features

IERVs incorporate advanced technologies such as torque sensing, pressure sensing, and flow monitoring and are available in low-pressure (LP) and medium-pressure (MP) configurations.

  • Predictive seal loss monitoring: detects wear before it impacts system performance, reducing downtime, failure, and maintenance costs.
  • Torque-sensing and monitoring: ensures optimal valve operation by detecting changes in torque, which can signal potential issues.
  • Flow sensing and SPC monitoring: provides real-time feedback on flow performance, ensuring accuracy and consistency in fluid handling.
  • Pressure sensing and SPC monitoring: combined with closed-loop feedback, protects against system clogs and bursts by limiting pressure spikes.
  • Backlash monitoring and compensation: predicts valve wear and ensures accurate port alignment.
  • ParLINK™ software: during prototyping, allows users to monitor valve performance and adjust settings through communication protocols such as CAN-bus, RS-232, and GPIO.
